The Bess Press       FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BESS PRESS PUBLISHES REVEALING NEW BOOK ABOUT FORENSIC SCIENCE AND CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION IN HONOLULU

In Honolulu CSI, husband-and-wife authors Gary A. Dias (Honolulu Cop, Bess Press 2002, Honolulu Homicide, Bess Press 2003) and Robbie Dingeman (Honolulu Homicide, Bess Press 2003) describe the riveting science and art of crime-scene investigation as applied to homicides in Honolulu . Chapters on crime scenes, fingerprints and other evidence, blood, firearms, arson and explosives, documents, graphic arts, injuries and autopsies, and forensic tools and profiling include experiments readers can try at home. A bonus section, Protect Yourself in a Dangerous World, offers expert advice on protecting your home, being safe on the streets and at work, and preventing sexual assault.

Gary A. Dias served with the Honolulu Police Department from 1971 until 1998 and wrote about his experiences in his first book, Honolulu Cop. He is currently manager of security at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu . As a reporter, Robbie Dingeman, co-author with Dias of Honolulu Homicide, has covered major Hawai'i stories for newspapers and television since 1982.
