The Musubi Man is Back!

The Musubi Man’s New Friend, by Sandi Takayama, with illustrations by Pat Hall, is an exciting sequel to The Musubi Man: Hawai‘i’s Gingerbread Man, a much-loved local children’s book that has sold 25,000 copies to date.

In The Musubi Man’s New Friend the feisty ball of rice is at it again. He’s surfing waves all day, just beyond the reach of a snack-hungry honu and a diving kolea. Then, on one special day, the musubi man is given a new friend and she turns out to be like him in more ways than one.

Sandi Takayama, a school librarian in Kapolei, has always had a talent for writing stories and creating her own endings to familiar tales.
