Textbooks and other educational materials designed
to meet the needs of K-12 classroom teachers in Hawaii and the
Pacific Islands. We are especially interested in hearing from
writers familiar with Department of Education curriculum guidelines
and those with subject matter expertise who can write at age-appropriate
reading levels. Send query or proposal. |

the Pacific Islands designed for widespread use in community
college and university classes. Send query or proposal. |
Hawai'i-related nonfiction for adults

Cookbooks with subject matter
closely related to Hawaii's multiethnic cuisine,
local food and traditions, locally grown ingredients, or Hawaii restaurants
and chefs. Send query, proposal or complete manuscript. |

Informational and how-to books about crafts, sports and recreation,
gardening, health, nutrition, fitness, and other topics of general
interest. Topics
must be specifically related to Hawai'i. Send query, proposal, or complete
manuscript. |
Hawai'i-related fiction and nonfiction
for children

Children's coloring
and activity books, with educational subject matter related to
Hawai'i. Send complete manuscript (with or without illustrations). |

Children's picture books. We prefer topics related to local or Hawaiian
culture. Send complete manuscript (with or without illustrations). |
We are not currently seeking manuscripts in the following formats:
- Juvenile or young adult novels
- Poetry and fiction for adults
- Asian language textbooks or reference
books

What to include with your submission:
A self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) for a reply or
for return of your manuscript
In your proposal or cover letter:
- the target audience
(including age group)
- how your book differs from other books
on the subject
- your qualifications as an author
- ways you can help market
the book
For submissions longer than 4,000 words, please send a printed
copy.
If you send illustrations, please do not send originals.
Response time
We respond (to submissions that include an SASE or an e-mail
address) within 4 to 6 weeks.
