SUBMISSION PROCEDURES

All submissions must be preceded by an email inquiry.

This email inquiry should be sent to submission@besspress.com and should contain the following simple and brief information.

·      Your name

·      Your contact information

·      Title

·      Genre

·      Target audience

·      A short (4-6 sentences) description of your work

If we at Bess Press are interested in viewing your manuscript, we will contact you within 4 weeks with the request for your cover letter and manuscript submission.

We will not consider submissions that are sent without the initial email inquiry. If a submission is sent without the initial email inquiry, it will not receive a response.

Once a request for formal submission has been made by Bess Press, you may submit your work. All actual submissions should include a short but detailed cover letter that achieves the following goals:

·      Identifies the target audience(s)

·      Explains how your work differs from other books already published on the same subject

·      Includes discussion of any additional material with samples (art, illustrations, design styles, graphics, etc.)

Please know that we encourage the submission of manuscripts that would be well suited for eBooks and digital books, along with on-line media, as long as it can correlate to our overall publishing goals as stated above.

If a manuscript or artwork is submitted in hard copy, it will be returned to you; however only if you provide us with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

We ask you not to submit original works of art, as Bess Press will not be held liable or responsible for any lost or damaged material once it has been submitted.

Please inform us if the work you submit is a multiple submission.

Bess Press strongly encourages you to submit materials digitally or through email when possible. Please send all queries, proposals, cover letters, manuscripts, and other materials through either of the means listed below.
