High School & Higher Education

At the high school and higher education level, Bess Press has titles focused on the contemporary topics concerning Hawaiʻi and the greater Pacific. Beginning with Modern History of Hawaiʻi covering the overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy and the United States’ illegal occupation of the Kingdom all the way through the 2010s.

Titles available for grades 9-12 focus on the political history, government, economic history, social history and land history. Books discussing and presenting content on contemporary issues and their impacts on Hawaiʻi in a global, national, and international context are also available.
